Who Is Corin?
Meet Corin, a renowned Entrepreneur, Tailor and Wardrobe Specialist with a BA in Fashion Design from Norfolk State University and a Fashion Styling certification from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology. With an impressive career in the fashion industry that spans over 20 years, she is a true Style Enthusiast who offers invaluable knowledge and experience to her clients and aspiring fashion professionals. Having traveled both domestically & international, Corin has had the opportunity to work with celebrities and individuals from all walks of life, immersing herself in diverse fashion cultures.
The entrepreneurial journey of Corin began as an intern at Fairchild publishing and evolved to collaborating with renowned figures on global platforms. She has a rich history in the fashion industry, starting with the launch of Style Haven, a fashion company that houses a retail boutique & offers various services like Costume Design, Tailoring, and Wardrobe Styling. Corin established an online store, brick-and-mortar boutique, as well as a mobile boutique that caters to fashion enthusiasts across the nation.
Today Corin runs Style Haven's day to day operations which include the online boutique, in studio services and VIP wardrobe services. She is also a BERNINA ambassador. Style Haven is born...
Opening a fully-fledged boutique fueled Corin's ambition, as she aimed to utilize her knowledge in retail and fashion. To fulfill this aspiration, she established Style Haven in 2008, an online boutique providing affordable and one-of-a-kind clothing options.
Corin's vision for a dream boutique turned into a reality in 2011 when she opened the doors to Style Haven® in Montclair, NJ. Our boutique specialized in offering vintage and thoughtfully curated clothing, accessories, and gifts. Through our unique Style Haven Co-op program, we collaborated with local artists to showcase their creations within our store. This not only helped us build community awareness, but also established our store as a safe haven within the neighborhood. One of our most successful recurring events was Conversations With..., where we welcomed artists to share their businesses with the local community.
After spending an extensive duration of 3 years serving the Montclair community, we ultimately made the decision to permanently close our Montclair location and adopt a more flexible approach for our boutique. In 2015, we introduced the Style Haven experience- a mobile boutique that spanned 24 feet in length and provided convenient accessibility to cities throughout the region. Our primary objective revolved around enabling individuals to encounter our exceptional assortment of boutique products at various local festivals. However, the outbreak of the Covid pandemic in 2019 abruptly forced us to halt our operations. Nevertheless, with the gradual reopening of the world in 2022, it became apparent that a significant transformation had transpired. Consequently, Style Haven seamlessly readapted itself into an online boutique setting, accompanied by a dedicated studio space where we now provide exclusively appointment-based services.
Today, Corin manages the day-to-day operations of Style Haven® while also working as a freelance on-set tailor and costumer.
